If the valve stem seals are bad the intake valves will "suck" oil into the cylinders. One common indicator of worn valve stem seals is to take your foot off the accelerator for several seconds when going downhill, then watch for smoke when you step on the accelerator again. If you see a puff of BLUISH smoke, you probably have bad valve stem seals. The catalytic converter can become oil fouled so that would be another indicator that you might have valve stem seal problems.
Rubber valve stem seals are the parts used to keep tires from leaking around the valve stems. They provide a tight seal which also keeps them securely in place.
Dodge doesn't use a modulator valve.
No. I've been using it for 7 or 8 oil changes. Still blows smoke on start-up (leaking valve seals), but I have noticed an improvement in acceleration and fuel mileage. There is no magic formula that will rejuvenate valve seals, only replacement.
Worn piston rings, bad valve seals,
Replace them. This can be done without removing the heads. Talk to your mechanic about this.
Valve cover gaskets are leaking. The valve cover gasket has seals as well around the sparkplug openings. These seals leak and leak oil into the sparkplug wells. drl
Spark plug tube seals are seals in the valve cover and prevent oil from leaking into the spark plug tubes. Some are of the o-ring type others are pressed in. They are located on the inside of the valve cover and require removal of the valve cover. When buying a new valve cover gasket they are sometimes supplied. So be sure if they are needed to get a gasket set with them included.
Either it is leaking out of the engine, or the piston rings/ valve seals are shot and the engine is burning oil.
It can be a few things, turbo seals leaking faulty crankcase valve faulty bell pan.
The seals sit in the head of the motor. Each cylinder has 4 valves, 2 intake and 2 output valves, each valve has a semi rubber/metal seal that keeps oil from leaking into the combustion chamber. Replacing the seals requires removing the head from the motorblock.
Most common cause for a misfire on the 2.5L is oil in the spark plug holes do to leaking valve cover plug tube seals. You would need to replace plugs, wires, and valve cover gaskets in that situation. Most common cause for a misfire on the 2.5L is oil in the spark plug holes do to leaking valve cover plug tube seals. 2 possiblities: 1) worn piston rings, or 2)leaking valve seals
