the rocky mountains have high relief and high elevation
The majority, about 70%, is made up of oceans. The minority, about 30% consists of land masses. The highest elevation on earch, above sea level, is Mount Everest, at 29,028 feet.

There is no data available for "average elevations of continents" except that Antarctica, with its deep ice cap, has the highest overall elevation. This would not be the case if considering the underlying land surface. Of the 7 classic continents, Australia (proper) may have the lowest elevation because it has fewer tall mountain ranges than Europe or the Americas.Asia has the lowest and highest points on earth, the Dead Sea on Israel/Jordan border is the lowest and the highest is Mount Everest, Nepal/China
mountain Mt. Everest
i think it is Mount Everest...i am not 100% positive!
Mount Everest, located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China, is the highest point on Earth's surface, measuring at 29,032 feet (8,848 meters) above sea level.
Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador is the highest point on the equator, reaching an elevation of 6,268 meters (20,564 feet) above sea level. While Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, Chimborazo's location near the equator gives it the distinction of being the point on Earth's surface farthest from the center of the Earth.
well elevation is the distance in a particular location between the surface and where the surface of the sea would be at a 90 degree angle measurement (if up to sea level then it's a negative elevation, down to sea level it's a positive elevation). So the elevation of a city would either be the lowest or highest natural (not manmade like a building) point in the city or the average elevation of the city(i'm pretty sure it's this) or the average of the lowest and highest point in the city.
Maxwell Montes, the , the highest mountain outside Mars, lies on Ishtar Terra. Its peak is 11 km above the Venusian average surface elevation. By comparison, Mount Everest (tallest mountain on Earth) is only 8.8 kilometers high.
Mars has multiple scarps on its surface. Olympus Mons has several major ones. Olympus Mons is the highest elevation in the solar system.
Lake Superior has the highest surface elevation of the Great Lakes. Lake Superior has an average surface elevation of 601.1 ft above sea level. Lakes Huron and Michigan are connected, so they have the same elevation of 577.5 ft above sea level. Then it drops down a mere 8 ft to Lake Erie which has an elevation of 569.2 ft. Finally, after flowing through the Niagara River, the water drops down to Lake Ontario which has an elevation of only 243.3 ft.
