As far as a side by side comparison, neither is better. If your looking to buy a graphics card from them, post the ones your interested in so then they can be compared. Both companies offer better graphics cards at different price points. If you mean which makes the best high end product, Nvidia currently has the highest performing single graphics card but ATI isn't far behind And by the way, Nvidia is the company that makes the Geforce series of graphics cards and ATI makes the Radeon series.
I had the same problem and just fixed it! Reduce the RX speed to V.17 9600. You will need to enter the service mode to modify these settings. Consult your equipment manual or call the maker's tech support to get the code to access the service mode. Nestor
There are two separate video cards on the newer MacBook Pros. One (the 9400m) is for everyday graphics and requires less power. The 9600M GT has its own memory (512mb) and is a high-end graphics card for gaming, etc.
