The French trappers and traders that they had dealt with had treated them with honor, fairness and dignity. This had not been the case with the early British colonists who were more inclined to "shoot first and ask questions later."

The Huron Indians allied themselves with the French. The Iroquois Indians helped the British army and colonist during the French and Indian War that took place from 1754 to 1763. The British were victorious in this war.

no one the Indians just steered clear of the war and if they had to choose my guess would be Americans because the Indians hate british because they took there land and always have war with them.

Most of the native Americans sided with the French because the French unlike the British were not trying to conquer them and take away there land, also since John Rolfe married pochantas more French men were marrying native American women. This made the relationship between the French and native Americans even stronger.
