The Stockholm Syndrome occurs during a hostage situation where the hostage begins to have positive feelings of compassion or sympathy towards the hijacker and may even defend their captors' actions. The London Syndrome is a condition that is the polar opposite of the Stockholm syndrome, in which one or more hostages respond to captors with belligerence and non-cooperation.
