First recharge it with freon. R134a. If it still doesn't operate check the relay. The relay is in the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module). It is underneath the intake housing fastened to the right strut tower.

I had this problem with my ZX2 and had it repaired by Novato (CA) Ford in August 2002. Initially the dealership thought it was the "SOP Processor" but after replacing that part the problem persisted. It ended up being a faulty "Relay Module", which cost about $250 to replace (parts & labor).

Yeh mate sounds as if your clutch plate on the compressor is cactus or burnt out its pretty common problem ull have to replace it
