The famous Russian scientist practically invented the whole concept of the Periodic Tabel of the elements and this was over many years. Considering the fact that this index is basic to the study of chmeistry(almost like Newton"s laws of gravity and motion are to physics) one would assume that Mr. Mendeleev would have been a first-draft Nobel laureate . This did not happen He was elib le for about 7 years(He died in l907 and Nobel prizes commenced in l900) Mendeleev also founded the Imperial bureau of Standares whichantedate the U.s National Bureau of Standards(sadly defunct) in l893. The Imperial Bureau of Srtandards standardized weights andmeasures and industrial qualities-like, for example purity of drugs, film speed liek the modern a.s.a. either accoplishemtn should have earned Mendeleev the Nobel honor but well, maybe they didn:t like Russians. He also developed a telephoto(Fog Camera) in l888 for the Navy department. Mendeleev Jr. invented tank destroyers in world war l -they used nav al guns, hence. the name. Hello
