Ptresumably electricity, rather than heat? There is no absolute dividing line or absolute rule about the two but conductors are able to transfer charge easily through their mass. This usually means loosely held outer electrons, but semi-conductors (which can be good conductors) do not follow this rule and neither does water (a reasonable conductor). Water conducts by quickly making and breaking bonds between adjacent molecules so that the overall effect is transfer of ions across the water.

What do insulators and conductors have in common?

stable atomic structure

Why is aluminum foil a bad insulator?

The reason that some materials are good conductors (of electricity) is because the outer electrons of the atomic nucleus are easily pulled away by an electric charge and if you keep applying that charge (such as with a battery) a current will flow. A good conductor is just the same as a bad insulator.

How are materials divided into conductors insulators and semi conductors according to the atomic theory?

Heat does not have an atomic structure. It is a form of energy, not matter.

Compare conductor and insulator?

Conductors and insulators are different and simalar in many ways. Two ways they are simallar are they both have electrons and have something to do with electricity.Three ways they are different that conductors let heat and electricity go through it .On the other hand insulators do not let heat or electreicity go through it easily.Another way is conductors transfer eelectrons easily but meanwhile the insulator psses on electrons with difficulty. One last thing is that conductors are not current but insulators are current. What is the difference between molecular structure and crystal structure?

The difference between atomic structures and crystal structures is that in atomic structures, atom patterns are mismatched, random, and disordered unlike crystal structures in which atoms are positioned in orderly and repeated patterns. For example to crystalline structure; BCC FCC and HCP
