There are different groups of people that proclaim the end of the world.
There are those who believe in The Bible (Christians), who believe that the bible gives us signs of the end of the world, and that the world as we know it will come to an end when Christ Jesus returns at the second coming.
Then there are those who believe that the world will come to an end because of what man has done to the world, and the world will come to an end through the problems with the climate, or from nuclear war.
There are others who believe this world will come to an end because of some cosmic cycle that the universe goes through.
