Nervous System
The visual system, which includes the eyes, optic nerves, and visual cortex in the brain, allows you to see. Light enters the eyes and is converted into electrical signals that are sent to the brain for interpretation, resulting in vision.
The sympathetic nervous system causes the dilation of the pupil in the iris by activating alpha-adrenergic receptors in the radial muscles of the iris. This response allows more light to enter the eye, preparing it for fight-or-flight situations.
For the sense of hearing, the central nervous system (specifically the auditory cortex in the brain) and the peripheral nervous system (including the auditory nerve and cochlea in the ear) must be functioning. For vision, the central nervous system (particularly the visual cortex) and the peripheral nervous system (including the optic nerve and retina in the eye) are necessary for proper function.
Tracts of axons in the central nervous system (CNS) are visible to the unaided eye and are called white matter. In the peripheral nervous system (PNS), nerve bundles are visible and may appear as "cables" connecting different parts of the body.
the eye is part of the nervous system, but more specifically, the peripheral nervous system.
Well that depends. If you are referring to the eye on a whole, then the answer is no, the eye is considered part of the optical system. But if you mean "is any part of the eye consider to be part of the nervous system?", then the answer is yes, the optical nerve situated at the back of the retina, is part of the nervous system
