The latest SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) summit was the 19th summit, held in November 2014 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Since then, no subsequent summit has taken place due to political tensions among member states, particularly between India and Pakistan. The SAARC process has been largely stalled, with member countries focusing on bilateral relations instead.
The logo of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was designed in 1983. It features nine lotus petals, symbolizing the eight member countries and the SAARC Secretariat, representing unity and cooperation among the nations. The logo was officially adopted at the first SAARC Summit held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in December 1985.
