Alex Mcnally: Yes, it will probally get worse every time. Its probally because they get wet from the snow, then you have your weight on of it witch is probally what causes the paint to chip.

Q: The first time I used skis the paint and such started to peel off the edges and in one spot I could even see the inner wooden core. Will this get worse every time i use them is this normal?
