The interpretation of these results is basically those in any inflammatory response which is usually involved in a rash. A perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate is not abnormal in a biopsy of a rash. The differential diagnosis in the report is indicative of either a fungal infection, or an allergic reaction. If it is a fungal skin infection then the culture will grow this eventually, it may take a few weeks for fungi to grow, but since the PAS is negative for hyphae it is less likely to be a fungal infection
