When obtaining a patients past medical history why is it important that the medical assistant review this information with the patient rather than just rely on whet the pertson writes on the form?
Because the person who actually wrote the records was probably miles away, writing code, and never even met the patient. More than likely it was several coders in different time zones, any thing to complicate your reading the records yourself , so therefore you need a medical assistant to read to you. It gives them something to do to earn their money.
