Years before the most important resource was olive oil and wool... However recently this has changed to crude oil. Which is used in many different petroleum products such as gas, plastic and even coating for medicine. Yet, over the years many Middle Eastern countries have come to the realization that crude oil is a limited natural resource that is going to only last a few more years due to over use by industrial countries.
