I belive the languge spoken in Mesoptamia was Sumer. :D

Mesopotamia IS the former name. The current name is Iraq.
There have been numerous different and competing Mesopotamian civilizations, each with their own languages. However, the most dominant language in Mesopotamia, and often used as a lingua franca was AKKADIAN.
