The option for my gameshark is grey for my kigb and I've tried re downloading and everything my kigb is a 2.05 and I'm trying to use it for Pokemon gold how do get it to work?

The only way to catch lugia in Pokemon emerald is at navel rock. There was an event for this years ago, so you cannot catch it legally now. The only option is action replay/gameshark.

Both Action Replay and Gameshark work on the same code insert. to insert codes, go to the menu Cheats in your VBA, and choose "Cheat list". Choose the option "Gameshark...", and enter your description for the code, and the code under there.

If you mean like writing action replay and Gameshark codes then you need to go to your emulation options and go to your cheats area. By the way I would highly recommend using Visual Boy Advance to emulate Gameboy pokemon games. It gives you the option to enter gameshark, codebreaker, and action replay codes cheats.
