If the breaker is not At Fault, you are drawing too much current. When a pump motor starts it requires much more current that when it is up and running. It is likely that the impeller on the pump is being retarded in some way making it harder for the pump to come up to speed and drawing more current. You can likely disassemble the pump and remove the impeller and see if the problem persists. If so the rotor of the motor may be binding and causing drag or there is a short in the motor windings.

When you have the motor apart check the starting centrifugal switch, the motor may not be getting out of the start winding and into the run winding.

Types of circuit breakers?

There are several type of circuit breakers now a day we are using these are as follows: 1. M.C.B. (Miniature circuit Breaker) Rating : 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 63 Amperes 2. M.C.C.B. (Miniature current circuit Breaker) Rating : 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 63, 100, 200, 250, 400 Amperes. 3. A.C.B. (Air Circuit Breaker) Rating : 400, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 1800, 2000 Amperes. 4. A. B. Switch (Air Breaker) used in High tension line. 5. SF6 Breaker (Contact break in the Sf6 medium) used in High tension line.

What did the wright brothers do in their invention?

Flew it for a few seconds at Kitty Hawk.

What would cause a switching noise in the commode after it has filled and it continues every few seconds?

You probably aren't getting a good seal around the flapper and every few seconds the tank has to fill up. This is usually caused by the chain that lifts the flapper is too long and gets caught under it when it tries to close. Simply shorten the chain.

How does a ground fault circuit interrupter shuts down a circuit?

A ground fault circuit breaker detects leakage current between the hot wire coming off the breaker and the neutral/ground since the neutral is bonded to the ground in the panel, if it senses a current of 6 milliamps or more it will trip. Note: no sharing of the neutral for a circuit on a ground fault breaker If a few milliamps from the hot (black) wire do not return on the neutral (white) wire, then a GFCI assumes that current it traveling harmfully elsewhere through your body. So it disconnects. A GFCI can monitor 15,000 milliamps. But if only 5 go missing, then a GFCI trips.

Why does your drill press trip the GFCI after running for a few seconds?

either you have a bad breaker, already have too many things running on that circuit or the drill is not properly grounded

How do you make your electric bill go up?

Turn every appliance and device on in the house. If the main breaker trips, turn a few devices off until the breaker does not trip. Prepare for a bill in the hundreds of dollars.

Is it safe to trip a breaker by touching the hot wire to the ground wire if you cannot identify the correct breaker?

This is one way that can locate hidden circuit breakers. It is not the best way because an arc flash could result if the breaker does not trip. An arc flash can generate enough heat instantaneously to burn the flesh off of any exposed skin. If there is combustible products or combustible air mixture that is in the general location of the arc, a fire could be easily started. The way that I do it is to load the circuit. I have a 3000 watt heater that I plug in to the circuit that I am trying to locate the breaker for. This loads the 15 amp circuit to 25 amps. The circuit breaker is located in a few seconds.

How can you tell if fuel pump relay is working?

Turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Listen very carefully for the fuel pump to run for a few seconds and then shut off. You may have to have someone remove the gas cap and listen there. If the pump runs for a few seconds and shuts off, the relay is good.

What is the main function of the magnetic trip in a circuit breaker?

The panel circuit-breaker trips two ways: (1) instant-magnetically; (2) by delayed thermal overload. Instant-magnetically responds to a huge, direct short circuit, where thousands of Amperes may flow immediately. The resulting magnetic field around a hairpin of heavy wire in the breaker pushes the wire arms apart, releasing the latch in the breaker very quickly. The breaker also contains a bi-metalic conductor that bends as it gets hot. If the current exceeds the breaker capacity for a few seconds to a minute the bi-metalic arm heats, bends and releases the latch in the breaker. The thermal-delay allows motors with large startup-current to get running without tripping the breaker. THE REST OF THE STORY: In other words, 20 Amp breaker can supply 40 amps or more for a few seconds. Not enough time to overheat the wire to the outlet, but enough time for a motor's centrifugal-switch to disconnect the start winding. If you overload the circuit a little bit, say 24 amps from a 20-Amp breaker, it will trip, but maybe not for a half hour or hour. On a hot day the thermal release will act more quickly, even though the current will be slightly less because copper wire has a higher resistance when warm.

How to tell is its fuel filter or fuel pump?

If you turn on the ignition without starting the engine you should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds. This is a good indication the fuel pump is good but not 100% positive. A bad fuel pump can run but not pump fuel. If you hear it for run for a few seconds just replace the fuel filter to make sure it is not clogged. If it still does not pump have a fuel pressure test run to verify the condition of the pump.

Why would the water flow decrease to a trickle after only a few seconds of trying to backwash your neglected green pool?

The water flow might decrease to a trickle after only a few seconds if there is an obstacle in the pool pump. The main reason this could happen is if the pool pump filter is dirty. Perhaps a leaf or stick entered the pump.

Sometimes you turn the ignition on and hear fuel pump run for a few seconds and it stops.Crank engine and it runs maybe 2 seconds. Then other times engine may run for an hour and fuel pump stops.?

Your fuel pump is going bad, or you have a loose wire.

If the key is on on a 98 s-10 blazer could it burn out the fuel pump?

No. The ECM detects the engine is not running and shuts the pump off after a few seconds.

it may be the fuel pump,

Can the PCM be bypassed on a 1994 Chevy S-10 so the fuel pump can run for a few seconds?

If you run power directly to the pump, it will run...if the pump works to begin with. You may have to access the wiring harness to the pump, as the pump is in the tank.

How do you reset the fuel pump or security fuel breaker in a Dodge Ram 1500 1999?

There is no breaker, only a relay and a fuse under the hood. Ford is the only manufacturer that used the breaker. If you think your pump is bad just take a hammer and tap on the bottom of the tank while turning the engine over. You don't need to bang on it with a sledge hammer, just a few "love taps" should do the trick and save yourself a $300 fuel pump.
