Because it depends where they are formed if they are formed under water or very close to water they are around smooth soft surfaces(ex:sand, water, fish etc.) they will be formed with their surroundings, because every so 200 million years the ocean floor is made again with new materials(like when you buy shoes and they get old and dirty you just buy new ones with the same style and material), and that is why it is formed smoothly.
