If you where standing at the end of Salisbury Road facing into the High Street, the Salisbury Hotel, Pub, Coaching Inn, Arms (what ever it was called at the time, I only knew it as the Salisbury) would have been on the opposite side of the road slightly to the right. Hope this helps.
