∙ 15y agoYes! The Greek philosopher Democritus, born in 460 B.C., first theorized the smallest possible particle, and called it the atom. Of course, the definition of an atom has changed quite a bit (there is no such thing as a water atom!), and we know that even smaller particles exist, but Democritus was definitely thinking in the right direction.

A particle smaller than atom is a subatomic particle, protons , neutrons, and , electrons, the smallest one is an electron, smaller than that are point particles and elementary particles, one elementary particle and point particle is a quark, up quarks down quarks the smallest single thing found so far is a GLUON, which is the force which binds/holds quarks together. Where the devil lives in anti matter there are also atoms and subatomic particles and point particles but just anti, anti- GLUON, anti-QUARK, anti-ATOM, anti-SUBATOMIC PARTICLE. There is something called the string theory, and super string theory that theorizes about bosonic/boson strings but it can not be provine yet, and I think a gluon is still alot smaller than a bosonic/boson string if they are true. You have got the particle called as proton. You have got the particle called as anti-proton. One is having positive and another having negative charge. You have got the particle with no charge and about the same mass as that of proton. That is neutron.You have anti-neutron for the neutron. Then you have got the particle called as electron. You have got the particle called as positron. First is having negative and other having positive charge. It fallows that you have got the particle with about the same mass of electron and with no charge. It should be called as 'neuletron'. Like wise there has to be antiparticle of this 'neuletron'. It should be called as 'anti-neuletron'. Which will be far more difficult for you to detect.
