a molecule. If the atoms are bound by an ionic bond, however, that would be an "ionic compound." Probably an anal difference, but a difference, still.

Atoms are held together with covalent attraction?

Atoms are not held togetherinternally by covalent attraction, but instead by the so-called "strong force" of quantum theory. However, two or more atoms can be held together in molecules by covalent attraction.

Type of covalent bonding that is found in the diamond?

The type of covalent bond in a diamond is a 'giant covalent' bond in a crystalline structure. Actually, I think it's called a covalent network solid. I don't think chemists and physicists would like to use a layman's term like "giant".
