u mean shells? If so the the first shell is the S shell with a maximum of 2 electrons; the next is the P shell with 8. The next type of shell is the D shell with 10 and then the F with 14 but these are filled 'weirdly'. The order in which the shells are filled in are: 1S2 2S2 2P6 3S2 3P6 4S2 3D10 4P6 5S2 4D10 4F14 5P6 ect.

1S2 means that it is shell number 1, from the nucleus. The S is the type of shell and the 2 is the maximum number of electrons that can occupy that shell.
