Buddhists in Tibet
The Far Eastern countries of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Tibet, Bhutan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and parts of Malaysia and Indonesia are Buddhist dominant countries. There are also very large Buddhist communities in India. Buddhists worship by meditating on the teachings of Buddha, much as Christian monks meditate on the teachings of Jesus......with the difference that Buddhist monks and practicing Buddhists don't believe Buddha is GOD.
Throughout the past one hundred years there have been a number of Buddhist monks who have set themselves on fire. What they have in common is that they were all either in Vietnam or Tibet, and they were all protesting oppression by the government of their country of Buddhists, especially of the monks and nuns.
