I have been doing an entire report on this, for my Geography H class at AFJH, so, I think I should give you some pretty dang accurate answers. Some of the major crops throughout Brazil's history would have to be, Potatoes, Sugarcane, Soybeans, and Coffee Beans. The potatoes would have been some very major crops during the time of the Incas. The Coffee beans were very popular during the 1950s and they still are. The Coffee Beans from Brazil still supply about 1/3 of all Coffee Bean Productions. The Sugarcane was once considered to be a "junky" plant and was only grown in Southern Brazil. But it soon began to rise and now, even the northern part of Brazil is growing it too. Soybeans have been really popular and grew into their popularity when their prices again rose. Farmers were wanting to plant them on every chance they got. I hope that helped you!
