Jen is 13.6 years old. Jack is 25.2 years old. The age total copied in is probably wrong.
25.2 + 40.8 = 66
It is algebra. Let x be Jen's age.
3x + (2x -2) = 66
3x + 2x - 2 = 68
5x = 68
x = 13.6 years
If the sum given were 68 instead of 66, you would find that Jack is 26 and Jen is 14.
