you have to trade it from Pokemon red to silver (u need the time machine) then trade it from silver to any version and so on :)

NO those guys are right but i found a way you can items needed: 2 gba systems either game boy advance or an sp, one trade cable, you need to beat Pokemon gold siver or crystal, Pokemon ruby Sapphire or emerald. what you do is you connect the gameboys use the time machine so you get the Pokemon on ruby Sapphire or emerald then migrate! (siedenote)ive heard you could trade with time machine but i don't know how to do it so you could look it up on youtube.
