Tithing is not a part of New Testament Christianity. Nowhere in the Bible are Christians commanded to tithe.
Tithing was replaced with Giving under Grace. The Bible/Apostle Paul gives guidelines on how to give. Giving is Spirit-led. Giving is voluntary. Giving should not be a burden. And giving should be done from one's abundance.
Voluntary giving and free-will offerings were practiced among New Testament Christians.

In the Old Testament the tithe was the way that the 12 tribes of Israel supported the priest. In the new testament Jesus requires all we have. We are to be good stewards of all we have. Supporting where we worship as well as those around us who are in need and we can help.
each member should tithe ten percent of their income. anything else is an offering.
well through your tithes and offerings (tithe is 10% of income. offering is anything above that.), and also through your services to help the church.
The average church tithe in America is 2%.
As tithe is not a person, you can only give it to god or the church.
the church owned the tithe barn and they put all there tithes (a tenth) in the tithe barn
The medieval church added to its wealth by collecting a tithe, or tax.
A tithe is a gift of money that a church-goer would give to help with the public services that a church provides, sometimes the tithe can be used for repairs to the church. Whether it be feeding the needy, housing the homeless or presents for patients.
The tithes are used, for the pastors salary, the upkeep of the church and paying the electric bills etc.
Christians use the tithe to help the church
Tithing was a medieval form of taxation under which landowners and farmers were required to hand over a "tithe", or a tenth of their produce to the government, instead of money. The Tithe Barn was where this produce was stored.
An offering is something over and above the tithe, for those who consider the tithe obligatory, although there are different opinions among Christians as to the obligatory nature of the tithe since it is not mentioned as such in the New Testament. For some who do not believe the tithe obligatory, an offering would be another name for the tithe. In any case, an offering is an indefinite amount whereas the tithe is 10%. So there can be no answer to what the offering may be. Remember Jesus praised the poor widow who gave all she had, even though it was a ''mite'' the smallest possible coin of those days, while He was not complimentary to others who put in large amounts when their heart was not right in terms of motive. So, firstly, one's heart should be right about how to give and then any amount can be given at any time. Most importantly, as outlined in the New Testament God wants our whole heart first as a ''living sacrifice'' or offering to Him.
A church donation, simply speaking, is a gift of money you give to a local church community. Often this is amount is separate from "tithe." Tithing is when Christians give the first 10% of their income to the church, usually on a weekly basis. Donations can occur at any time or for any reason, but are generally contributions given to some project (i.e. helping orphans in Uganda). Churches are almost always 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, thus both tithes and donations are tax deductible.
