Yes because it is hard for humans to step out self into the light. On the other hand Jesus gives all the help we need to do whatever He expects us to do. The Holy spirit gives both understanding and power. But it is difficult because we are all sinners and just don't want to do what He wants (this is spoken from experience). We also tend to think that we know better than Him or may be impatient to have something happen right now when He may wish us to wait. Personally, I know from many different experiences over 36 years (at time of posting in 2009) that He is never ever late and that appropriate help is always available. Also, in the light of the glory to come any short term afflictions will seem as absolutely nothing. We will look back and wonder what we were worried about or why we complained.
A christian IS a follower, of Jesus. it's not "a christian's follower" it's a christian follower (of jesus).

Jesus didn't say that because he wasn't a christian. Christians only existed after Jesus died. A christian is a follower of Christ. If Jesus was a christian that would mean he was a follower of himself.
