yes you do :) you need to go to university and select what courses you need to take to do what ever you wanted to do in teaching eg maths, science, mfl ..... ect. but you don't have to specialise in one area if you are looking at the younger years of primary school then you can teach one class everything like for example if you have a year R or year 1 class you can be their overall teacher.
