Religion relies on faith, or divinely inspired knowledge about the metaphysical world. Some religions also provide divinely inspired knowledge about past events, including the origin of the world.
Science relies on observation and analysis about the physical world. Science requires data to be replicable and testable. All scientific results, hypotheses and theories must be published and subjected to peer review, so that a broad cross-section of scientific opinion can evaluate, then disprove or accept them.
