Took hpt on it was positive began bleeding same day Went to the dr the next day hcg levels were 52 still bleeding 72 hrs later hcg levels quadrupled but still bleeding 4 days later Anyone?

Women who have had healthy babies on others sites said that this has happened to them. I guess it is called decidual bleeding not sure if I spelled that right try a search using that term to find out more about it

Just happened to me too. My dr called it a threatened miscarriage and is still checking my hcg levels.

The 2 blood tests are compared to see if the levels are rising. If your levels are rising you are pregnant.

Are you bleeding like a 'normal' period or spotting, heavy or not? Both of the times that I was pregnant my positive result was quite faint as my hormone levels were still pretty low and the second time that I tested positive I bled heavy a few days later, went into the ER and everything was just fine. I would recommend that you see your doctor if bleeding is heavy and/or persistant (lasts a few days) this could be sign of a miscarriage which is very common in early pregnancy, sometimes women dont' even know that they are pregnant at all and just figure it is a period that has been just alittle late.

It is possible, but the bleeding could also have been from implantation bleeding. A pregnancy test will show positive for a while after a miscarriage because your body has not rid itself of the HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels yet. The further along you were, the longer a pregnancy test will show positive. I would still be on the lookout for any symptoms of pregnancy, continue taking your prenatal vitamins (or at least folic acid), refrain from alcohol and tobacco and caffeine then in a couple weeks take another test and see. Or you can go to the doctor to either confirm pregnancy or miscarriage.
