With an AIEEE rank of 356058, securing admission in top engineering colleges may be challenging, as most reputable institutions have higher cutoff ranks. However, you might still have options in lower-ranked or private colleges that accept AIEEE scores. It's essential to explore various colleges and their specific admission criteria, as well as consider lateral options like state-level entrance exams or management quotas.
You could get admission in the NITs
Dear both have equal demands. There are many subjects which are common and some of the subjects are different. CSE was the parent branch afterwards IT came into existence. If you go through the syllabus of various University you would hardly differentiate them as per academics. In some universities Java , .Net are major subjects in IT but not in CSE while in others in CSE these are major subjects. I would suggest you to opt for some good university as that equally matters as choosing a branch. Some of the top institutes/ Universities where you can apply are: BITS Pilani, Pune college of engineering, Lovely Professional University, Amrita school of engineering. Compare there rankings and fee structure along with scholarship schemes before taking admission.

All India Engineering Entrance Examination or AIEEE is an all India level engineering entrance test for admission into undergraduate engineering course. Country's top engineering colleges consider AIEEE score except IITs, from next year onwards both AIEEE & IITJEE is going to be merged. There will be JEE Main & JEE Advanced instead of AIEEE & Old JEE.
Back when AIEEE was used for admissions, there was never one fixed rank for either college because it changed every year based on the branch and competition. In general, *Thapar University* usually required a better rank than *Jaypee Institute* for popular branches like CSE and ECE. Many students with stronger ranks preferred Thapar because of its reputation, placements, campus life, and industry exposure. If I had to explain it simply: *Thapar* → More competitive, stronger brand value, better overall opportunities. *Jaypee* → Slightly easier to get into, especially for some branches, and still a good option for engineering. A lot of students who had the choice between the two leaned towards Thapar, especially for CSE, COE, and ECE, because it is often considered one of the top private universities in North India. That said, both colleges have produced successful graduates, so your branch and personal effort will matter a lot too.
