To adjust the headlamps on a 2001 Jaguar XJ6, first park the vehicle on a level surface about 10-25 feet from a wall or garage door. Use a Phillips screwdriver to locate the vertical and horizontal adjustment screws, which are typically found on the back of the headlamp assembly. Turn the screws clockwise or counterclockwise to raise or lower the beam and adjust the horizontal alignment until the light pattern is centered and at the correct height. Finally, check the alignment by turning on the headlights and ensuring the beams are properly positioned.
There is a fairy long black plastic rod with screwdriver slot on top and to the right of the headlight.

With the hood open remove the (2) two headlamp assembly bolts from the upper fascia support. Slide the headlamp assembly outward enough to release the headlamp bracket tabs from the slots in the upper fascia support. (to release the tabs from the slots on the passenger side lens move the assembly to the left when facing the engine, and when doing the drivers side lens shift the assembly to the right ) Position the headlamp assembly away from the vehicle body to access the electrical connector. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly. Remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle. If you wish to change the halogen bulb: Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp bulb/socket. Remove the headlamp bulb/socket retainer ring from the headlamp, by turning counterclockwise. Remove the headlamp bulb/socket from the headlamp assembly. . "G" These instructions are similar from around '96 to '03 grand prix model years all trim levels.
To replace the headlamp on a 2001 Lexus IS300, first, open the hood and locate the headlamp assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the headlamp and remove any retaining clips or screws holding the assembly in place. Carefully take out the old bulb and insert the new one, ensuring not to touch the glass with your fingers. Reassemble the headlamp by reversing the steps, reconnecting the electrical connector, and testing the new headlamp.
