engine check light is not on. right?
if the fuel consumption is above the manufacture specification then please check the vehicles wheel alignment, dragging brakes and wheels air pressure etc.
Diesel? No problem. Petrol? A little high but ok if price is right. Make sure you know when cam belt was last done, they need a change every 40,000 miles of so
buy a toyota !! Problem solved
whats the first step on repairing my 1993 Toyota truck 22re with a high idling problem thanks Brian
My 1990 Toyota Celica Idle is too high... What seems to be the problem?
Petrol contain a high number of components.
A Toyota Hybrid vehicle requires gasoline to run. It employs a conventional petrol engine alongside (usually) two electric motors and a HV (High Voltage) battery. It automatically switches between the petrol engine and the electric motors (or both simultaneously using a hybrid transaxle) in order to create drive.
High fuel consumption, Strong petrol smell in exhaust, low on power, black spark plugs which should be a hazel colour. Any or all of these is a giveaway.
Bad switch or wiring problem.
Several problems can cause high fuel consumption. An engine that needs a tune up, a slipping transmission or a problem with a sensor giving bad information to the computer can all cause low fuel economy.
Many use standard petrol, some use high octane petrol.
Most common cause of unusually high fuel comsumption is a fuel leak. Other possiblities include leaking injectors, faulty O2 sensor, vacuum leak or incorrectly adujsted intake valve.
The 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 has a very high rating for being fuel efficient. Since fuel consumption is the biggest cost is running a 4x4 truck, this would make it very economical.
