I have had rats for a few years now, I absolutely love them. I've never had a rat who would come when called but I have had several who would come to me on their own and one who always knew when I was looking for her. If I walked into a room she would come right up to me, she was so sweet. I think your best bet is to try and get your rat to be that tame, so you never really have to call them. Make sure that you handle them daily, from the time they are just babies. It's also good to get a rat that has good bloodlines, because a lot of it is genetic. If you get a rat who's parents were spoiled and very tame, your baby will likely be the same way,
its not all pet rats its just the ones that are black and white because it looks somewhat like a tuxedo
In the wild yes they are, But if you keep a pet rat then you can train them to sleep when you sleep. But yes they are naturally Nocturnal.
No. All pet rats are vaccinated.
Roland Rat didn't have a pet gerbil, but one of his friends, Kevin, was a gerbil.
Rats may be attracted to your home due to the availability of food, water, and shelter. Common attractants include garbage, pet food left outside, cluttered areas, and easy access points such as gaps or holes in walls. Making your home less appealing to rats by removing these attractants can help deter them.
Play with her and pet her. And train her. I began to train my two six week pups to sit and come when they were called and they caught on fast!
You can find pet rats in a lot of pet stores, or animal rescues. You can find wild rats just about anywhere.
Pet rats are great! You can train them to come to names, so a short, simple name with no more than two syllables is good! Pick a cute name! I have to girl pet rats myself and they are grey and black with white spots.. the grey one is named Sexy and the black and white one is Princess :)
Yes
No, they can sometimes prevent them!
All pet rats are the same. They are all called fancy rats except for the Albino which is slightly smaller than the regular fancy rat. If you go to the pet store and see tanks that say small, medium, and large rat you should know that the small rats are simply babies and the large rat are older.
Pet rats are not vermin. Pet rats are raised in a pet store, laboratory, or adoption center and they are raised to be pets or in the case of labs, experiments. if you are thinking of buying a rat remember not to buy a rat raised as food for snakes. Rats bred to be pets are much gentler and sweeter than rats raised as food.
