Transmission Media
Guided Media : Guided Transmission Media uses a "cabling" system that guides the data signals along a specific path. The data signals are bound by the "cabling" system. Guided Media is also known as Bound Media Unguided Transmission Media consists of a means for the data signals to travel but nothing to guide them along a specific path. In a guided medium signal passes through a physical pathway(s),while in an unguided medium signal passes through a vacuum, it is independent of a physical pathway.
First of all, WAN is an acronym for Wider Area Network. A good example of a WAN is the Internet. The basic components of a WAN would be routers, satellites, ISP mainframes, transmission media (Fiber Optics backbones, Power lines, network cables etc....i suppose satellites would also be classed as a transmission media). The most essential of an WAN Component can be Modems / Routers / Router abd Firewalls.
The characteristic impedance or surge impedance belongs to a uniform transmission line, usually written Z0. It is the ratio of the amplitudes of a single pair of voltage and current waves propagating along the line in the absence of reflections.
Traditional media is a media in which electronics equipment has not to be used by audience, in electronics media they require such instruments like radio, tv, computer etc to get the information.
