The answer is true. Without these standards, it would be tough to design a network because you could ensure the hardware and software from different companies would be compatible.
Interoperability
American Hardware Manufacturers Association was created in 1901.
There is a huge quantity of PC hardware manufacturers including Dell, Toshiba and Asus. One can easily find a list of hardware manufacturers and could possibly even find the one the most recommended or most popular.
Access the web sites of the hardware manufacturers like IBM and Hewlett Packard and obtain the latest information regarding hardware releases for laptops. preparea table comparing cost, speed & capacity for each product across manufacturers.
Describe the functions of computer hardware and associated OH & S standards and environmental considerations around hardware use and disposal
Android is an "operating system" - that is software - that can run on many manufacturers' computer hardware. There is no such thing as "an Android Box".

Because those same standards define how communication between different hardware and software involved, will take place. Standards create stability and consistency as well as minimization of packet errors. It creates a standard of how communication is transmitted and received. Without standards, communication would be chaotic or impossible.

Most newer hardware is using USB ports, however much of the legacy hardware uses older RS232 or parallel communication. They are all just different communication protocols and different hardware manufacturers selected whatever protocol THEY felt would be best for their application. Just about everything is USB now. It's far more flexible.
