Endocytosis and exocytosis.

Endocytosis is when the material goes in the cell by engulfing it in. There are different types of endocytosis: phagocytosis, pinocytosis, and receptor meditated.

Phagocytosis is when the cell engulfs the material in the vesicle.

Pinocytosis is when there is fluid in the vesicle.

Receptor meditated is when there are receptors in the vesicle to attract material.

Excocytosis is when the material goes out of the cell by fusing with the membrane.

Both of these active transport uses a vesicle that forms in order to bring the materials in or out of the cell.

How cells move things by active transport?

What ways can cells move things by active transport?

. One method is that transport proteins in the cell membrane "pick up" molecules from outside the cell and carry them in, while using energy in the process. A second method is that the cell membrane surrounds a particle and takes it in.

How might life be different if cells had to use active transport to move every substance?

Life would be very difficult and processes would drag if cells were to use active transport to move every substance to its destination.

What types of transport require ATP?

The two types of cell trnsport it Passive Transport and Active Transport. Active Transport does require energy to move into and out of the cell. Passive Transport doesn't require energy to move into and out of the cell. Hope I helped!

What is the process that requires the use of energy to move materials across a membrane?

Active transport is the process that requires the use of energy to move materials across a membrane. This process involves the movement of molecules against their concentration gradient, requiring energy input from the cell.

How do materials move in and out of cells and animal cells?

Materials can move in and out of animal cells through one of two reasons: Passive transport or active transport. Passive transport happens naturally and requires no energy on the part of the cell. It usually happens through osmosis, diffusion, or facilitated diffusion. Active transport involves endocytosis, exocytosis, or molecules moving from a low concentration to high concentration. Active transport requires energy.

What do cells use to perform active transport?

Cells use energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to perform active transport. This energy is required to move substances against their concentration gradient, from areas of lower concentration to areas of higher concentration. Active transport allows cells to maintain internal conditions and regulate the movement of molecules.

Which process most directly enables sperm cells to move from place to place and enables root hair cells to absorb minerals by active transport?

Flagellar movement enables sperm cells to move from place to place, while active transport processes enable root hair cells to absorb minerals.

What is it called when molecules uses energy to move across a semipermeable membrane?

Active transport

What are 2 situations which active transport would be required?

well if the active transport was not used it would have to use the passive transport. the meaning of not using the active transport because if you use the active transport in one case it would burst

What process requires cells to expend energy in the form of ATP?

Active transport processes, such as the sodium-potassium pump, require cells to expend energy in the form of ATP. The energy from ATP is needed to move molecules or ions against their concentration gradient, from an area of lower concentration to an area of higher concentration.

What is required when cells must move materials against a concentration gradient?

Active transport which requires ATP.
