In the novel "Pulp Fiction," the contents of the briefcase are never revealed. It is left to the viewer's imagination, with a golden glow emitting from it when opened by the characters. This ambiguity adds to the mysterious and intriguing nature of the film.

Martin Luther King Jr's speech called I Have a Dream influenced the world in many different ways. The biggest effect was it opened peoples eyes about how black people were treated.
The lockpicks belong to Eric Weisz (aka Houdini). Once you ask him about the opened briefcase, you learn his identity from the newspaper reporter. Go back to his room and find the picks.
If we restrict this question to the United States, it would seem to be C. F. Martin, who opened for business in this country in 1833. Gibson opened in 1890.
