Air in system. Top off the Master Cylinder and bleed the system to remove any trapped air.

most likely the brake light switch burned out. you would find that switch on the brake pedal itself. easy to replace.easy way to test would be unplug it if the lights goes off you found the problem. u need to replace the stop light switch on the brake pedal
