The Green River Killer, also called the SeaTac killer, was a serial killer that 'worked' the main avenue leading to the Seattle/Tacoma Internation Airport, just outside of Seattle, WA. Apprehended after two decades begining in the 1980's. Gary Leon Ridgeway, a painter specializing in commercial trucks, was finally arrested after DNA from some of the victims matched Ridgeway's from a previous arrest. Ridgeway confessed to at least 60 murders* and thought to have killed more than a hundred, was spared the death penalty in exchange for names and buriel sites of victims still missing and assumed murdered.

*Ridgeway claimed after his arrest that he had killed so many women he could not remember the exact body count.
