Vincent van Gogh
He painted it at the asylum in St Remy. There are no records of the time it took, but we know Vincent painted very fast in his last years, so no more than a few days.
Vincent Van Gogh's Wheat Field with Crows was painted in July of 1890, shortly before his death. Some argue that this was his last painting.
All of them, he was a painter for about eight years. He made about 900 paintings and 1100 drawings and sketches.
He is reported to have said: "The sadness lasts for ever."

His last words were "La tristesse durera toujours" (the sadness will last forever).
There is no rule, but most painters have preferred to sign their last name only.One famous exception was Vincent van Gogh, who signed Vincent.
