Poland won its independence from Germany with the Treaty of Versailles. Czechoslovakia was also recognized as an independent country. The Treaty of Versailles was passed in 1919.
East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Albania. Three of these countries (East Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia) no longer exist.
The Treaty of Versailles didn't in itself establish any new countries. Two countries came into being at the end of WWI: Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. Poland, which had been 'carved up' by Russia, Prussia and Austria between 1772 and 1795 was reunited as an independent country. In the Baltic area Finland gained complete independence from Russia, while Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were reconstituted as independent countries. Austria and Hungary became fully separate.

Hitler invaded Poland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxenbourg, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Yugoslavia, the Channel Islands and the Soviet Union in 1939.
