where is neutral safety located on 98 mitsubishi montero
Probably the neutral safety switch, either faulty or out of adjustment.
My 2004 Endeavor does not. However, I like the idea, and the lights turn off when the ignition switch is in the lock position, so I leave the headlights on all the time.
Neutral switch
Neutral safety switch really has nothing to do with the car moving. It is simply for starting the car in Park or neutral. Do you have the cable adjusted correctly? Drive may be where neutral was. Transmisson fluid low, transmission bad.
In most standard transmission automobiles, the neutral safety switch can be found under the dash, behind the clutch pedal arm itself. It is usually a physical plunger switch that is pushed in as the pedal is pressed. It is usually close to the top of the pedal close to the hinge.
There is not a way to switch off the speed alarm in a Mitsubishi by yourself. You can take the Mitsubishi to a dealership and have them scan it for you.
check the neutral saftey switch same thing happened with my 01 vic had to get it replaced costs about $50
neutral safety switch will stop vehicle from starting in all gears except park and neutral.
