Between 1812 and 1814 the Americans fought war against the British. Many white sticks fought on the side of the white men. They believed that by doing so, the Americans would look at them kindly and leave their land alone.

The Red Sticks fought with the British. It w as our hope that the British defeated the Americans, and we would claim the land the white men had stolen. We weer defeated by General Andrew Jackson and the White Sticks at Horseshoe Bend on the Tallapoosa River. The Red Sticks would no longer have any power, and the White sticks were forced to give all of their land to the Americans. Neither of us won.
