yes, 1456 was indeed a leap year, which by the way, started on a thursday... to know if a year is a leap year, see the numeral formed by the last two digits (e.g. 56 in 1456) and see if it is divisible by 4 i.e. if it is divided by 4, you should get a whole number rather than a decimal number (e.g. on dividing 56 by 4, you get 14, a whole number)... also, if both the last two digits are 0s (like 1900 or 2000), ther year is a leap year...
