Was 1914 the beginning of the last days according to the Bible?

The Bible clearly states:

Matthew 24:36

No One Knows the Day or Hour

36“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,

but My Father only.

A: As it has been mentioned, no one knows, only God the Father. There have been a few writers who think World War I was thebeginning of the last days, but they do not reallyknow and according to their reasoningpeople from that age would be alive to see the end of days. These people would have had to have an first hand understanding of WWI. The end of that war was 1918, 95 years ago. No, no one knows.

If we can bring ourselves to believe what John writes... we discover that the "last days" [the 'last hour'] began in HIS day: when Christ was born. For 'anti-CHRIST' could not be until 'CHRIST' was in the world.

"Dear Children, the last hour IS HERE. You have heard that the antichrist is coming, and ALREADY many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the end of the worldhas come." [{the Literal Bible} ends John's passage with, not'the end of the world' as the NLT translates it... but with'the last hour.' The KJV: "...it is the last time."]. (I John 2:18 NLT New Living Translation)

"God... hath IN THESE LAST DAYS spoken unto us BY HIS SON..." (Heb.1:1-2 NLT) [when was the book of "Hebrews" written? And it speaks of "THESE last days"?]

Again... the "last days" began with the "birth of God's Son;" not with some arbitrary date set by men by man's calendar.

As Peter reveals to us...

"...you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day." (II Peter 3:8 NLT)

So, looking at it in this light... although "two-thousand-plus years" have passed according to our calendar -- by God's reckoning... the "last days" only began a little over "two days ago."
