I will say one thing, photographs of a smiling Amelia are extremely rare- there were some taken shortly after her l928 Atlantic flight ( on which she was an observer, not an active pilot) First she smiled, then was snapped grinning ear to ear like , for example, a Ballplayer who has walloped a victorious home run. Later photos of Amelia show a very serious woman, intent on her passion for flying, but very few show her smiling. draw your own conclusions.
