A's voluminous writings are suffused with Biblical references. He also wrote the largest book of any Church Father, his commentary on the Psalms, a whopping 3000 pages --- no illustrations :)

That's 20 pages commentary per Psalm on avergage.

He wrote also on the Gospel of John , the harmony of the Gospels ( De Consensu) and much on Genesis.

Conversion and Spiritual Journey:

Augustine's early life was marked by worldly pursuits and a search for meaning. His spiritual journey was deeply influenced by his reading of the Bible, particularly the letters of Saint Paul.

His famous conversion experience, described in his autobiographical work "Confessions," was spurred by a verse from the Bible: "Take up and read" (Latin: "tolle, lege"). Augustine interpreted this as a divine command to open the Bible and read the first passage he encountered. The passage he read deeply resonated with him and led to his conversion to Christianity.

Biblical Interpretation and Theology:

Augustine became a prolific writer and theologian, and his works are filled with references to and interpretations of biblical texts.

He developed profound theological concepts based on his interpretation of the Bible, such as original sin, divine grace, the nature of evil, and the relationship between God and human beings.

Christian Life and Ethics:

Augustine's understanding of ethics and Christian living was heavily informed by his reading of the Bible. His writings on virtues, morality, and the pursuit of God's will were shaped by his biblical insights.
